News Update
It has been a while since you heard of any progress on the Kanja glider. Our sincere apologies for that.
At the end of the year we want to look back on what we have achieved and look ahead to the future of (Team) Kanja.
The start of the build of Kanja was a year ago in 2009. But major progress was achieved in the spring and summer of 2010.
After out internships and graduation we wanted to finish as much as we could on the glider. Especially with the Europe Composites Fair in Essen in view. In the summer months we worked on vertical and horizontal tailplanes, ailerons, drag- and side struts, joystick and pedals.
The Fair was a great success, with plenty of attention and exposure.
After the Fair we returned to Delft with more enthusiasm to complete our glider. A somewhat smaller Team Kanja were working part-time on the glider. Some pictures of a seat, hinges and controls are added in the photo albums.
For our sponsor, TenCate, we had a photo-shoot in our special overalls. One photo can be seen at our ‘Team Kanja’ page, the others can be found in this album.
Not shortly after we had to stop building. The Composites Laboratory was needed for other Aeronautical students of our University. So everything is cleaned and stored. But at the moment we are so close to complete the glider we want to finish it in the spring/summer of 2011. With (off course) a flight shortly afterwards.
These are our intentions for 2011 and we are eager to accomplish these intentions.
For the moment we want to wish you a joyous 2011!
